WAW bench |
2012
The bench is designed for corridors in the building of the Interior Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
It is made of solid beechwood and finished with a clear, matt varnish. Elements of the bench are connected together by mortise and tenon joint, dowels and glue. I used a traditional material in reference to the prewar building, where the department is located. Perpendicular juxtaposition of the front and back legs ensure that the bench is more stable and at the same time make it a more dynamic, modern-looking piece of furniture.
